You will be off the grid with all natural surroundings here in ecopalapaville providing an opportunity to forget distractions of the normal work a day world. You can enjoy splendid sun rises and ocean scenery while living with the bounty of the sun through a solar and generator powered electric system. We are our own power company, and water company so it is a chance for those interested to see how all this works first hand. Living off the grid has some limitations and with a little contemplation of the time and place you will feel you are living a little closer to MOTHER here, giving up some of the affluence of unlimited utilities, power and appliances but participating in conservation of many commodities that are so easy to take for granted.
You will be amazed by the East Cape climate and fresh breezes that allow a very comfortable, rustic, indoor/outdoor beach house lifestyle. The floor plans often provide for ventilation through half walls (Pappagallo), windows that open widely, louvered panels in walls or walls that open door style (Sunset). Each unit enjoys the feeling of privacy through plantings, privacy panels and fences.
There is a whole different array of East Cape plants, birds, animals, sea life and insects to entertain you, especially the young of heart and inquisitive ones. This is a place that can go years with only a trace of rain and then receive 25 inches of rain in a hurricane event and all the flora and fauna survives within the pressure of these extremes. Looking around on the dunes you can only speculate what forces sculpt this landscape. You access Pappagallo through an arroyo/lagoon system formed by storm water flowing off the mountains and under the surface of the arroyos. Driving through the lagoon estuary area you will see oasis’s of palm trees and a vast buttonwood mangrove forest over a subterranean aquifer where the well water is only 8 feet below the surface…. between the infrequent heavy rain events.
